Gemini Screen Automation for Android Apps

Gemini Screen Automation for Android Apps: Usage Limits and Supported Services Explained

Google has begun rolling out its new Gemini screen automation feature, bringing smarter AI powered control to Android apps. The feature is currently launching on the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, allowing users to perform common tasks in apps using simple voice or text commands. However, like many AI powered tools, this feature comes with daily usage limits depending on the subscription plan.

What Is Gemini Screen Automation?

Gemini screen automation, powered by Google Gemini, allows users to control mobile apps without manually tapping or navigating through menus. Instead, the AI performs actions such as scrolling, tapping, and typing on the user’s behalf.

The process works through a virtual window, running the app on the device, while cloud based AI analyzes the task and sends instructions to the phone. This combination of on device and cloud processing enables Gemini to interact with apps almost like a human user.

For example, instead of opening a food delivery app and placing an order manually, you can simply ask Gemini to do it for you.

Daily Usage Limits by Subscription Tier

Google has introduced request limits to manage system performance and ensure fair usage across its AI services. The number of daily requests varies depending on your subscription.

Users with a free Google account can make up to five screen automation requests per day.

Those subscribed to Google AI Plus, priced at $7.99 per month, receive 12 requests per day.

The Google AI Pro plan, which costs $19.99 per month, increases the limit to 20 requests per day.

For advanced users, Google AI Ultra offers a significant upgrade. Subscribers paying $249.99 per month can make up to 120 automation requests daily.

Gemini Agent: A Separate AI Capability

It’s important to note that Gemini screen automation is different from another advanced feature known as Gemini Agent. The Gemini Agent currently remains exclusive to AI Ultra subscribers.

Unlike screen automation, which controls apps on your device, Gemini Agent operates through a live cloud based web browser. This allows it to perform complex online tasks more independently.

AI Ultra members receive 200 requests per day for Gemini Agent actions, making it a powerful tool for advanced automation and web based workflows.

Supported Apps for Automation

At launch, Gemini screen automation supports several popular apps used for transportation, food delivery, and everyday services. Supported apps include:

  • Lyft
  • Uber
  • Grubhub
  • DoorDash
  • Uber Eats
  • Starbucks

These integrations allow Gemini to automate common actions like booking rides, ordering meals, or reordering favorite items.

Examples of What Gemini Can Do

Users can issue simple commands such as:

Book transportation

  • “Book a ride to the airport.”
  • “Schedule a ride for tomorrow morning.”

Order food

  • “Reorder my last coffee.”
  • “Order pizza for delivery.”

Shop for groceries

  • “Add milk and eggs to my grocery cart.”
  • “Order groceries to my mom’s house.”

These natural language commands make it easier to complete everyday tasks quickly without manually navigating through apps.

Device Availability and Rollout

Currently, Gemini screen automation is available on the Galaxy S26 series in the United States and South Korea.

Google has also confirmed that the feature will expand to the Google Pixel 10, Google Pixel 10 Pro, and Google Pixel 10 Pro XL devices soon. However, support for these smartphones has not yet been activated and will initially launch in the United States.

The Future of AI App Control

Gemini screen automation represents a major step toward more intelligent smartphones. By allowing AI to interact directly with apps, Google is moving closer to a future where digital assistants can complete complex tasks with minimal user input.

As Google expands supported apps and improves its AI models, Gemini could soon become an essential productivity tool for millions of Android users worldwide.
